Shadows can be our friends, reminding us that we are tethered to this world. They were once used to tell time and let’s not forget shadow puppets as kids. But shadows can also be mischievous, such as Peter Pan’s shadow who would not stay stuck to him. Then there are the scary shadows that we cannot hope to understand. The one that falls behind you as you make your way through the deserted alley. The one in the corner of your room when you turn out the light. But the ones I intend to tell you about have a much richer background. They are the things we fear and do not know that we do. They are nameless, though I have taken to calling them Shadow People.
This is my story as I remember it and if you read this, I cannot guarantee your safety. Once they know you know, they may decide you are a threat. I hope this story will help others and that when you close this book, you do not see those faceless shadows watching you.
